On My Phone

This work depicts a man missing a fantastic experience while he is on his phone. I have chosen to create fantastic, surrealistic landscapes unquestionably enriched with meaningful lessons and toned to be aesthetically playful, which makes the messages easier to receive. They are also layered with imagery to encourage viewers to think about the entirety of the situations – the exposed flaws, the societal issues, people’s attitudes.  Holding human nature to criticism, satire has been long known for poking fun at society while inspiring social change.  That is my goal.  I am using irony and foolishness to mimic the irrationality of human behavior.  I am exaggerating sizes, using anthropomorphism, and inserting elements of out-of-place environments into human experiences to represent the absurdity of these true stories.
