I created the original pastel drawing in October 2021, after visiting Chicago for The Other Art Fair. I fell in love with the rich culture, the preservation of African American history and art, and the vibrant spirits of each different neighborhood. I really tried to capture the energy of the city and honor the places there that continue to inspire me.
